We are pleased to announce the completion of the fourth stage of the "Solar Energy for Schools" project initiated by "SHELL Kazakhstan BV" with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Our company has been participating in this program since 2018, and we have previously implemented similar projects in Nur-Sultan, Aktau, and Uralsk.
Despite the ongoing challenging epidemiological situation in the region, country, and the world, significant price increases for equipment and materials due to rising global commodity prices (such as steel, copper, etc.), as well as restrictions on the construction site dimensions, our team has managed to develop an optimal technical solution. We have successfully installed a photovoltaic power station within the allocated budget and agreed-upon timelines. The station is based on a shaded canopy above the stadium stands, with integrated two-sided solar panels.
The station has a total nominal capacity of 100 kW and consists of 192 photovoltaic panels, two 50 kW inverters, a dedicated weather station, and a remote monitoring system. It can cover up to 25% of the school's annual energy consumption and achieve a reduction of CO2 emissions by 100 tons per year.
As before, the project was implemented under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contract model, and we have utilized equipment from leading global manufacturers in the field of solar energy.
On October 1, 2021, the station was officially inaugurated in the presence of Bakytgul Khamenova, the Deputy Akim of Atyrau Region, Kulash Shamshidinova, the Chairman of the Board of the autonomous educational organization "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools," and Herman Burmeister, Senior Vice President and Chairman of "SHELL Kazakhstan BV" conglomerate.
